Overview

This project showcases an illustrated avatar that represents my personal style and interests. It is designed as a profile photo for Instagram, combining elements that resonate with me while exploring artistic techniques I wanted to refine.

Tools and Techniques

Tools Used: Pencil, Paper, Scanner, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

Techniques: Texture layering, varying line weights, and digital merging of sketches.

Inspiration & Concept

Plants: I love drawing plants as they symbolize growth, a theme I deeply connect with in my creative journey.

Observation: As a detail-oriented observer, I wanted to reflect this trait through a character studying a piece of paper, pen in hand, capturing a moment of quiet focus and intent.

Strawberries: Inspired by a sweet, soft strawberry mousse I enjoyed at the time, I incorporated this influence into the design, representing both indulgence and playfulness.

Artistic Goals

Texture: I aimed to experiment with texture to add depth and tactility, stepping out of my usual practice of clean, flat illustrations.

Line Weights: To enhance the illustration’s visual interest, I explored varying line weights, using thicker lines for emphasis and thinner lines for intricate details.

Composition: Initially, I had drawn two separate sketches. While merging them, I focused on creating a cohesive layout that balanced the elements seamlessly.

Process & Methodology
